OUR WITNESS AS PARENTS CAN CHANGE OUR CHURCH
When you come with UM parents to Pittsburgh May 1-2, 2004, bring a 2 x 2 inch picture of your gay loved one. You will be among the hundreds who wear a badge of honor in support of all lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender United Methodist Christians. With a photo of your loved one, it reads, "MY CHILD IS OF SACRED WORTH." The General Conference still claims in theory that “homosexual practice is incompatible with Christian teaching.” But in our families we know better, and so do sound Bible scholars. Let’s make our voices heard—in our churches, our Annual Conferences, and at General Conference in Pittsburgh. STRATEGIES FOR PARENTS WITNESS WEEKENDPittsburgh, May 1-2, 2004 Parents Witness Weekend and Rally will be Saturday and Sunday, May 1-2, 2004 with either hotels or free home hospitality available. Bishop Fritz Mutti, whose sons died of AIDS, will keynote a PRN breakfast on Saturday morning.
